Does it mean I shouldn't bother with this stuff?

Seriously I've studied this zen/buddhist stuff for 35 years and settled on Dogen, but looking back I don't feel I rise to the standard to be entertaining myself with it anymore. I don't sit at all. I just read occasionally, uchiyama, feel better you know we're all just ants in the sugar bowl etc. I should just delete it right?

This is just one last question before I delete the rest of my books.

Thanks!

Helplessly Deluded

vertical line Welcome to the forum unnarrator,
i was about to leaving but nice to meet you.
i am in your situation.i have been thinking and reading on Zen for about 15 years.
Finally i've become aware that one thought is just give rise to another thought.and this go on so.this has no practical usage in zen.how pity is that i have passed my days and years on thinking now when i look back.
But now i understand my fault.i think everyone has a limit on this understanding.i mean on this thinking is not the way.mine was 15 years.may be yours is 35 years.
now i feel deeply that i cant do without meditation.it is the only real practice.because zen has nothing with thinking.
Once you understand this as i try to explain above everything come to right.
i don't find the way yet, but i can feel the joy of it even, now.

vertical line "The purpose of studying Buddhism is not to study Buddhism but to study ourselves. It is impossible to study ourselves without some teaching. . . . We need some teaching, but just by studying the teaching alone, it is impossible to know what 'I' in myself am. Through the teaching we may understand our human nature. But the teaching is not we ourselves: it is some explanation of ourselves. So if you are attached to the teaching, or to the teacher, you should leave the teacher, and you should be independent. You need a teacher so that you can become independent. If you are not attached to him, the teacher will show you the way to yourself."

vertical line What is possible it to make a concept into a service. If you are motivated you can do it. Try not to waste those 35 years??? (which is just a ridiculous amount of time to even say which I think you're just being a baby or trolling) by never changing those concepts into service.

Whatever guy. I'm not buying your story.

vertical line Imagine if you could calculate the emotions that have emerged from the music you have listened to your whole life? Imagine that calculation. Imagine the intelligence that has blessed you with a capacity to feel such for each sound or each song, to receive such in abundance. And that is only music. Imagine nature and the emotion that is connected with it. So, what is sensitivity and why would you want to sacrifice it for anything that'd compromise it?
