On one occasion, the Buddha said to the monks this:
"No other form do I know, O monks, that so persists in obsessing the mind of a man as the form of a woman. The form of a woman persists in obsessing the mind of a man.

Having an attention is also living in a world of imagined mental concepts. Because the attention is imagined what is taught to us is mainly conceptual and not actual in reality reinforces the attention/ego. The ego being all the beliefs the attention feels is true.
For example the world is flat. Most have never been in space to see it first hand. Watching videos of the earth from the space station the earth appears round but yet its easily seen the fish eye effect of the camera on the edges of flat panels being distorted. If you watch often you can catch where the camera meets the horizon and earth flattens out. There is NO reverse fish eye effect. Round cannot become flat. Plus we have TWO space stations. One circling our known lands and the other drifting and floating above heavy air in far away lands. But everyone is too busy oooing and ohhhing to notice totally new land mass. Both separate feeds don't even match up. You cannot make a round ball flat with a camera that has noticable fish eye effect.
