CAN LOVE OR COMPASSION BE CULTIVATED?
What is love or compassion do you mean? Where does it come from? Would you think that love or compassion can be cultivated?

Anything could be cultivated is the result of the activities of the "me", isn't it? Because it is programmed by thought, right?

Why do ones need to cultivate love or compassion? The ones have it or the ones do not have it? If they already have it, then why do they need to cultivate it? If they do not have it how could they cutivate it?

Is there any point that love or compassion to miss? If there is some fixed object for love or compassion, then it is not love or compassion at all. Why? Love or compassion does not select an object to love or to be compassionate. If it selects, it is not love or compassion. It is just thought.

Anyone who is trying to cultivate love or compassion is trying to build his "me", isn't he? Cutivating is a process of thought repetition day by day, a system to put things together. Love or compassion is not something can be put together by thought. Thought is the "me", a "deadly" thing, and it has its own limitation, meanwhile love or compassion is live, spontaneous and immeasurable. It just comes from the Mind which is free from the known. System is the known.

If love or compassion that is a result from a systematic cultivation, then it is not a true love or compassion, and it will be corrupted one day when it is caught under certain condition. For example, a monk who was trained well at a monastery without a chance of seeing a woman. When he suddenly met a beautiful and seductive woman at some convenient place, it would be hard for him not to break up the precepts he observed when he was in the monastery. Let alone the monks who stealthily break up the precepts in the darkness.

In short, no system can create or cultivate love or compassion for a human being.

This is just some observation and it does not ask anyone to agree or disagree with it. One must explore it himself.
